Recommended time of year: Spring time: March to May. The weather ranges from the low 70s to the high 80s.
Hotel: We stayed at The Moxy Hotel. Located in the Upper Peninsula, The Moxy Hotel has amazing rooftop views and was not too far away from all of the happenings on King Street.
Friday
We started our day grabbing coffee from The Daily. The coffee shop was very popular and had quite a long line but it moved very fast. I ordered an iced vanilla latte and my friend ordered a hot chai tea latte. Such a good start to the day!
We then headed to Millers All Day for some lunch. Millers does not accept reservations so we put our name in and then left to explore King Street. The wait was about an hour and a half but the time went by quickly since we were able to explore the adorable shops on King Street.
We sat down to eat around 1:00 PM and the food was well worth the wait. Highlights included their biscuits, grits, and a delectable cinnamon roll that was unlike any we have ever had before.
Our group then headed back to King Street for some more shopping before heading back to the hotel.
We put our name in at Raw 167 while the group was getting ready (as it was already a 3 hour wait) and then we headed to our dinner reservation at The Darling Oyster Bar. The Darling had great oysters (of course!), wine, and ceviche.
After dinner we got a text that our table was ready and we headed to Raw 167 for some caviar and more oysters. We heard this place was a must and I can see why! The ambiance is so fun and the caviar and oysters were SO GOOD.
After dinner we went to Uptown Social for some drinks and dancing. Beware, there was a VERY long time and a $15 cover, but it went pretty quickly.
Saturday
The group started the day at Basic Kitchen for breakfast. To recover from the night before, we each got one of their fresh wellness shots. Their options? BRAIN BOOSTER (pineapple, ginger, lion's mane), HAPPY LIVER (turmeric, beet, oj, milk thistle), and IMMUNITY (pomegranate, ginger, echinacea). I recommend the IMMUNITY shot! The food at Basic Kitchen is delicious and uses seasonal and local produce. I recommend the Cauli Wings and Smoked Salmon Toast - YUM.
We then Ubered Sullivan’s Island. We sat on the beach for an hour and just enjoyed the sun and waves before our lunch reservation.
For lunch we headed to Obstinate Daughter. Obstinate Daughter popped up on almost every list of recommended restaurants and it was definitely my favorite meal of the trip! I recommend the beet & burrata appetizer, vodka pasta, and the Moultrie Pizza.
Then back to the hotel before we headed to Camilla’s at Hotel Bennett - a pink champagne room! How can you go wrong. We spent lots of time (maybe too much time?) taking photos of the adorable atmosphere. If you’re headed to CHS with your girlfriends - this is a must.
Then off to dinner at Frannie and the Fox (at the Emeline hotel). The atmosphere and food did not disappoint.
After dinner the group wanted to go to Republic Garden & Lounge and it was not without its fair share of reality tv celebrity spottings (cough cough Kate from Below Deck).
Sunday
We booked a candle making class at Candlefish and this was definitely a MUST DO activity. The chandler (instructor) was hilarious and the class was such an enjoyable experience. Probably one of my favorite moments!
After the class we headed to Felix. The drinks are adorable and their french onion soup is probably the best I’ve ever had.
We then headed to Rainbow Row before heading back to the hotel. The colorful houses were so beautiful and definitely worth the visit.
For dinner we went to Husk which was recommended so many times and this was a great recommendation! The Sizzle Reel drink (Complete with Grilled Pineapple Infused Tequila, Cilantro, Jalapeno, Lime) was recommended by the server and it was SO good. For dinner we had Hearth Baked Skillet Cornbread, Wood Fired NC Oysters, and Brasstown Short Rib. Everything was great.
After dinner we went to the Citrus Club for some drinks and it was such a cute spot. Since we went on a rainy Sunday it was not packed as I am assuming it is the rest of the weekend but definitely worth the visit.
